Biography

Corinne grew up in Beresford, South Dakota. She attended the University of South Dakota on a Presidential Alumni Scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. After graduation, she entered the world of banking and investments and earned her Series 7 and 63 investments licenses. While working full-time, Corinne continued her education and earned her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Dakota.

After meeting her future husband Dallas, they moved to Pierre, South Dakota, the state’s capital. Corinne became a branch bank manager and Dallas established a successful concrete construction business. Later, Corinne moved out of private sector employment and joined the State of South Dakota where she managed the Retirement Benefits Division for the South Dakota Retirement System (SDRS). While residing in Pierre, she and Dallas enjoyed the outdoors continuously ~ walleye fishing and hunting for pheasant, grouse, dove, duck, deer, antelope, and geese.

In March of 2006, Corinne’s husband Dallas and their black Labrador Retriever Hutch passed away in a tragic ice fishing accident. This left Corinne devastated and prompted her to take up her former passion for writing. Through the Ice is the result of her pain during this time.

Almost one year to the date of her husband’s death, Corinne attended a conference in San Diego, California and met Bob, an individual who has since become a significant person in her life. She now resides in El Paso, Texas with Bob, her black Labrador Retriever Jig, and their two black Lab puppies: Fenway and Finnegan (aka Brian).

Corinne continues to expand her writing interests and in addition to her desire to publish more books, in the near future she plans to introduce a line of greeting cards. On Sundays in the fall, you will find her watching the NFL and rooting for her favorite Minnesota Vikings. In the summer, she enjoys spending time on the New England coast with Bob and Jig and attending Boston Red Sox games at Fenway Park.

Forever close to Corinne’s heart are those that suffer the loss of a spouse. And, while each individual facing such a loss must find a personal understanding and strength to move forward, Corinne continues to pray for their guidance along this journey.
